Manny Ramirez was restored by MLB

Manny Ramirez has been officially reinstated by Major League Baseball from the list of voluntary retirement, the League confirmed Saturday.

The move made Ramirez 39 years is available to sign with the team, though he still had to serve a 50-game suspension before he can return to game action.

Ramirez was originally banned for 100 games early last season after testing positive for banned substances for the second time.

He was responding to a suspension by announcing his retirement in April after just five games with the Tampa Bay Rays.

But Ramirez stated his intention to return to the Premier League last weekend. His sentence was reduced after negotiations between the League and its players Union because of his big break from the game.
