NHL: five things we learned this week – The Guardian (blog)

Topics this week include the NHL’s newest trade talks; Trick shots; and why Tim Thomas did not go to the White House

On the Board of trade talk, rather HF unsurprisingly, dominated the scene. Speculation in this pretty hot, and it might help the team like Anaheim has put everybody basically has to offer, and others, such as Calgary, Montreal, Philadelphia, Carolina, or all is looking to buy or sell in the next few weeks. Oh, and there is always a Toronto. But you know it.

It would be difficult to completely encapsulate all the rumored trade or outstanding potential at this point, so here are a few that I think the most interesting scenarios that appear in the last week.

Teemu Selanne
Yes, you have to say it would be impossible. And Yes, maybe, he is one of only two players from the ducks who don’t seem to be anywhere while management is offering up just about anyone else.

“As much as GM Bob Murray had insisted that Selanne left untreated, will have to get up to if he lived or veteran gone. League sources said as many as four teams-Rangers, shark, Bruins and wing-all have a question to the Selanne’s availability with trading limits just over a month away, on 27 February. All are watching to see if Murray decides to move with his club mired near the bottom of the Western Conference. “

Lars Anderson: NASCAR’s new engine, excuse Petty chose Almirola, more mail

The race takes place two months ago, three hours of riveting played on loop 1.5 mile tarmac in South Florida. Now that we have time to digest and analyse the repetition of everything that happened in the final season of 2011 at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, Carl Edwards held-how the points lead heading into the race Tony Stewart; How Stewart crashed into the back of the field after the damage his No. 14 Chevy under caution; How Stewart charged back; How Stewart passed Edwards and won the Championship based on by–official called that race what it is: the largest of the Chase era.

Like the shortest offseason in the sport of winds down-the engine will fire for the Daytona 500 on February 26-a number of questions surrounding the NASCAR. Can repeat Stewart? Jimmie Johnson would recover from the fall of sub-par? Edwards can avoid disappointment? Dale Earnhardt Jr. would be checkered flag for the first time since 2008? Exercise can maintain the momentum generated in 2011?

So many questions. Let’s dive into the post season, which features our brave first 2012.

I would like to know how NASCAR EFI work

Essentially electronic fuel injection make machines more efficiently by controlling the fuel mixture through the electronics. This means, for the first time, and Sprint Cup cars will not use carburetors, which is a technology that is outdated. After all, every passenger car in the United States have been showing EFI since 1990.

Daniel Alfredsson vs. Dion Phaneuf NHL All

DETROIT–Nicklas Lidstrom thinks NHL should add another element to the Fantasy draft and all-Star Game-competition.

With this year’s celebration in Ottawa, a Captain had to Senator Daniel Alfredsson. It is a slam dunk. She is the face of the franchise.

Lidstrom had to know. Detroit Red Wings ‘ superstar Captain one of the teams in Carolina last year, the first time the NHL tried this format–which is hoping to add some drama and competitive spirit into an event that has gone stale. All-stars to help choose the Team Captain, Captain choose the TV show and they go at it in the game, with bragging rights line.

Ron Paul supporters of the New Hampshire primary of 2012 go all out: Why are his fans …

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) recently has been making headlines with its popularity that surprised GOP Presidential primary opinion, led by the powerful core supporters who are so adamant about their men that some even call it Fanaticism.

Justin Roy, 22-year-old from Springfield, Massachusetts who are willing to sacrifice his follicles to cause, is one of the following examples of intense Paul, especially among young voters. Roy wore etched-out is done at the campaign’s City Hall meeting in Meredith, New Hampshire just two days ago, the Paul campaign events only on Sunday.

Experts have been quick to point out the scenario seems unlikely. The oldest candidate for The GOP (Paul is 76) arguably have a younger following. Daily Beast Andrew Romano delved into her here for the caucus of Iowa:

With such a strong base of youth, however, there is often little Paul party mentality is trying to stay away from. As The New York Times report, Paul youth volunteers in Iowa didn’t just promise not to drink or do drugs, but even refrain from tweeting and spoke to reporters–is not easy.

Daily Beast points out, the prospect of legalizing the drug appeals to many. Whatever it is, Paul seems to have pulled out the sound of youth in a way that many compared to the 2008 Barack Obama’s campaign, even though the two share some common views.
